TBTask Force Special Events needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: The TB Committee Special Events Task Force is in place to organize and coordinate the special events that happen throughout the year that relate to the mission of the TB Education Program Committee. Events that the Special Events Task Force would work on would include, but are not limited to: • Bi-Annual TB Education Program Symposium • TB Education Program Updates • CEU Programs When the Special Events Task Force convenes to work on events, they will have several responsibilities. These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Securing a venue and organizing day-of details • Identifying and securing appropriate speakers for the event • Creating and distributing appropriate promotional • Creating and compiling necessary materials for event attendees (speaker power points and biographies, evaluations, etc.) • Adhering to a budget set by the Professional and Public Education Committee, the American Lung Association of Indiana and the Indiana State Department of Health The Special Events Task Force will work closely with the Continuing Education Task Force when events are being planned. This group will convene when special events are being planned. When the planning is in its early stage, it can be expected that formal meetings will occur once/month; other communication may be necessary. Conference call capabilities will be available for those who cannot travel to the meeting location. As events near, it may be expected that the time commitment will increase to satisfy the needs of the project. TB Program Content Task Force needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: Program Content Task Force The Program Content Task Force is in place to ensure that the content of the ALA-Indian/Indiana State Department of Health Tuberculosis Education Program is accurate, timely, and appropriate. It is the responsibility of this task force to create, update, and revise the educational content of the program. Components of the program that this task force would work on include, but are not limited to: • Updating the Instructor Manual as new information needs to be included • Creating a standardized Basic TB Course presentation that may be used by all Instructors • Review TB course renewal information as needed • Explore options for on-line trainings and updates The Program Content Task Force will work with a Content Review Committee to ensure that all material is up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased. This group will be an ongoing group and will meet regularly. Time commitment is estimated to be 2 hours every 2 months for a meeting, with additional communication and work as needed. Conference call capabilities will be available for those who cannot travel to the meeting location. TB Education Program Task Forces – Continuing Education The TB Education Program Committee is in need of individuals from communities in Indiana to serve on various task forces as part of completing our goal to bring excellent practices in TB prevention, testing, and control to Indiana. Our task forces will take on roles of coordinating and organizing key elements of the TB Education Program in Indiana, and will ensure that our activities work toward completing our goals. We value the expertise and experience available within our communities and look forward to working with you as you explore the opportunities that we have available. Continuing Education Task Force The Continuing Education Task Force is in place to ensure that the programs that the TB Program puts on for its constituents have the ability to provide CEU credits through various accrediting agencies. The responsibilities of the Continuing Education Task Force include, but are not limited to: • Researching agencies that will accredit appropriate continuing education courses and special events for the TB program • Conducting needs assessments for CEU programs • Applying for CEU credit for appropriate programs • Ensuring that the content delivered within the program is appropriate as designated by the accrediting agency’s standards The Continuing Education Task Force will work closely with the Special Event Task Force when events for the TB program are being planned. This group will convene when events are being planned for which CEU credits would be appropriate. When specific planning is in its early stage, it can be expected that at least one meeting will convene to address the application and create a work plan; other communication will be necessary as the application continues. Conference call capabilities will be available for those who cannot travel to the meeting location. As project deadlines near, it may be expected that the time commitment will increase to satisfy the needs of the project. TB Long Term Task Force needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: Long Term Care Task Force The TB Committee Long Term Care Task Force is in place to ensure that regulations with the TB Program apply to Long Term Care Regulations. The TB program realizes the importance of understanding and addressing the needs of Long Term Care providers and is committed to providing training within the TB program to help address these needs. The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Task Force will include, but are not limited to: • Establishing an addition to the current TB education program that may be incorporated for classes that involve Long Term Care students • Ensure that changes in Long Term Care regulations are brought to the attention of individuals who are trained in the program • Establish recommendations for Long Term Care of patients (when needed) This group will be an ongoing group and will meet regularly. Time commitment is estimated to be 2 hours every 2 months for a meeting, with additional communication and work as needed. Conference call capabilities will be available for those who cannot travel to the meeting location. TB Quality Task Force needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: Quality Assurance Task Force The Quality Assurance Task Force is in place to ensure that certain measures and steps are being taken to preserve the quality of the TB Program teaching and materials. It is important that the guidelines set forth by the program are being followed and adhered to, so as to ensure that the education we are providing is as accurate, thorough, and comprehensive as we can make it. The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Task Force will include, but are not limited to: • Perform evaluation functions of TB program instructors and trainers • Establish a method of reporting grievances against instructors and trainers • Respond to issues within the TB education program • Establish standardized corrective action for grievances/issues This group will be an ongoing group, but time commitments will vary depending on the need for evaluation functions and/or addressing issues. Time commitment is estimated to be 2 hours every 2 months for a meeting, with additional communication and work as needed. It is important to recruit members for this task force from a variety of communities around the state so that regional issues may be dealt with without hardship on task force members.
